Paediatric Occupational Therapists assist children in developmental milestones and skills required to participate in home, kinder and school environments.
Southern Right Therapy provides tailored Occupational Therapy programs to meet the specific goals of children, young people and their families, such as:
- Self-care: toileting, showering, dressing, eating, organisational skills, learning to tie shoe laces.
- Motor skills: balance, ball skills, core strength, coordination, fine motor control, finger and hand strength.
- Handwriting: holding and manipulating a pencil, letter formation, writing legibility, typing skills, fatigue management, hand strengthening.
- Sensory processing: ability to identify and appropriately respond to sensory information (vision, hearing, smell, taste, touch and body position in space). Therapy also can focus on building skills for self-regulation.
Services are provided in partnership with primary caregivers and in close communication with other members of your family’s support team such as GPs, paediatricians, psychologists, speech pathologists, physiotherapists, teachers, early childhood educators and your NDIS support coordinator.
